Shoegazing: Pillars

It's been a long time since I haven't posted anything but old podcasts of my radio program The Unearther (El Desenterrador). But the new single of the dreampop/shoegaze band Slowdive has stun me completely. Never one to let himself to be subjected to outside influences, Mr Halstead and Co band have created a timeless classic that recalls their original era, like those 22 years of recording inactivity never passed. Dreamy, guitar entwininig melodies both nostalgic and hazily dark and drums and bass sounding  so ethereal that gravity becomes unnecessary. The perfect recipe with a new twist to it. Add to that the updated sound that makes you think about bands like God Is An Astronaut and Halstead own Black Hearted Brother and it just works in all levels.
